KCMC & Orphanage visit....
We still have no internet but it may be like that for the whole trip due to the mountains and the rain but who knows?
Today was a very busy day! We went to visit an official at KCMC which is a large Lutheran University and training center to see their facilities and what they do there. We then went to an orphanage run by the catholic sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. This orphanage housed children that have disabilities or handicaps including deaf and blind children and many albino children that they protect. In Tanzania it is thought that you will become rich if you have a piece of an albino, so they kidnap children, kill them and sell their fingers, arms, etc... It is such a sad concept but we were glad that someone was willing to watch over them and protect them! They sang us beautiful songs and we treated the sick children at the orphanage! We then headed back up the mountain to treat an additional 100+ patients. Also, not to rub it in but it was 90's today so we are enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery as well as providing care to those that really need it! We will post again soon....we are all safe and sound, busy but having fun!!!
